I’m happy to write and congratulate the people who put their time and effort into cleaning up the Yough River area and other areas around Westmoreland County (“Yough River cleanup snags nearly 700 tires,” Oct. 31, TribLIVE). We should all be thankful for the effort put in to cleaning up our rivers, streams and recreation areas. This is how good things get done, by a community effort.

As I drive through our area, I wish the people my husband refers as “North American Two-Leg Pigs” would quit littering the roadways. There is no good reason to litter or throw trash anywhere other than the trash bin. There again, people volunteer to clean up the roads.

Thank you, everyone, for your efforts and goodwill.
