Letter to the editor: The real climate change in America

I cannot agree more with letter-writer Dana Siler (“Support bold climate action,” April 18, TribLIVE) that there is a big change in climate in America and all over the world. The change hasn’t a thing to do with the weather, but because of it, maybe God is calling to all of us through catastrophes.

In America, we used to cherish life; now we allow abortion because babies are an inconvenience. We used to cherish the sanctity of marriage; now anyone can marry anyone they wish. We used to cherish gender differences given to us by God at birth, but now we call God a liar and name our own gender.

We used to cherish law and order, but now we have hideouts for illegals and criminals — sanctuary cities and states. We used to cherish the sovereignty of America and our borders, but now we seem to have no boundaries, and our laws don’t protect our way of life or our country from being overrun by illegals.

We used to cherish a code of honor by our government and the news media — and really by all of us — but now anything goes as long as it benefits us, truth or not.

This is the real climate change that will be the death of America. Who is dooming America with these choices? Who is teaching our young people that these things are OK? Should we blame ourselves for allowing such atrocities?
