Letter to the editor: Things I think I think
1. I think I think the huge debt we are amassing will be very tough to deal with by our children and grandchildren. Does anyone realize how much money $25 trillion (and growing) is?
2. I think I think energy is a good friend. Why are we on a path back to energy dependence?
3. I think I think the answer to No. 2 above is something people call climate change. Since the USA is responsible for 15% of the world’s carbon emissions, while China is at 30%, India 8%, Russia 5% and the rest of the world 42%, what should be our appropriate action and contribution?
4. I think I think I can look at a statue and admire that person’s contributions. Why do some folks want me to think in today’s terms rather than the time that person lived in and tear it down?
5. I think I think Washington politicians act like it’s a constant kindergarten free-for-all. In kindergarten, I learned civility, sharing, friendship and responsibility. Why did they just learn irrationality?
6. I think I think there are many ways to help everyday people during this pandemic that the government could do, such as lowering taxes, reducing or eliminating turnpike tolls, subsidizing energy costs and putting people to work. So why is the opposite happening?
