Letter to the editor: Tired of the whining about the border

I’m really tired of hearing and reading the whining from grown adults (particularly aged 50+) about the southern border. If we rallied together the retirees, the armchair pundits and the people who use religion to mask their blatant racism, we could have at least four or five squadrons ready to join the National Guard. But they won’t, because that would require them to leave their hollers for the first time.

I encourage everyone: Fight for what you believe in where you can make a difference, but don’t act like parading around regurgitating Fox News talking points is doing anything to solve what I think is a nonexistent “crisis.” The economy must be doing great because our local pseudo-religious deplorables are back to relying on racism and transphobia to try to save their 2024 chances.

Aren’t y’all tired? Even your God took a break once a week.
