PennDOT’s new $3 million signaling upgrades through downtown Greensburg are quite frankly unacceptable. How can traffic engineers overlook turning signals at Westmoreland, Highland and Urania avenues? These busy intersections have had established turning lanes for decades without proper signaling. PennDOT finally has the funding to correct this issue and they fail.

To add insult to injury, they install turning signals from Urania Avenue onto West Pittsburgh Street. What was the thinking behind this? Traffic trying to get to businesses on Urania Avenue like Sunset Cafe and sporting events at Offutt Field would be safer and more efficient with properly installed signals. How does this get overlooked?

Three million in tax dollars wasted. Embarrassing.
