Letter to the editor: Triumph, tragedy, Trump and Biden

Tribune-Review

As we led up to the election Tuesday, we all “worried and wondered” what it would be, triumph or tragedy? For those who wanted President Trump to win, they saw a win for Joe Biden as a tragedy and vice versa.

Voters saw a vast difference between what the two candidates want for our country, a struggle between America and the world: nationalism versus globalism. Trump wants America to pull the world forward, with our American Constitution granting inalienable rights to all people leading the way, an example for the world. He has demonstrated this philosophy during his term in office.

It seems Biden, based on his many years in office and his platform, would prefer America join a global community with powerful corporations, many of whom support him, and government bureaucracies in charge of our lives. America would be just another cog in the machine.

Election Day came and went, and we still don’t have our final answer. We still don’t know if more Americans want to follow Trump with his vision for our country as the leader of the world, or if more Americans prefer to be just another mass of people on a stipulated piece of the planet, part of a global community directing our lives; the end of our country as founded.

We all hope we have an honest answer soon. Till then, we wait, worry and wonder.
