Letter to the editor: True Pirates fans not 'stupid'
Mark Madden states we are ” stupid” if we support the Pirates, buy merchandise or go to PNC Park (“Stop supporting the Pittsburgh Pirates,” Aug. 4, TribLive). He also states that we are “stupid” if we even think Paul Skenes would sign with the Pirates, and if he did sign with the Pirates, then he is “stupid.”
Well, I am here to say there are “true blue” fans out there who enjoy watching them play hard, even in the tough times. It is called respect. I remember the winning times, and it will happen again. And yes, Mark, it is not always about the money, and if we were blessed to have Skenes sign, then more power to us. And if you can’t even entertain the idea of a true Pirates fan, then maybe sir, you are just “stupid” too!
