The letter “Bad logic on Trump’s presidency” (March 29, TribLIVE) rebutting the letter “Why Trump was a great president” (March 7, TribLIVE), which was a rebuttal to my letter “No comparison between Trump, Reagan” (Feb. 27, TribLIVE) was excellent. The writer is correct when he says that the covid-19 pandemic is a big part of inflation, a declining stock market and high gas prices, not only here but all over the world.
I, and millions of Americans with common sense, watched the sickening events of the Jan. 6 insurrection and Donald Trump’s attempt to steal the 2020 election unfold on live TV. None of us needed Tucker Carlson’s hand-picked video footage. In my opinion, Carlson and Fox News are the epitome of fake news.
Since the March 7 letter was published, Trump has once again tried to inflict harm on the America he swore to protect and serve, calling again for protests and speaking of death and destruction. Before being indicted in New York, a photo of him holding a baseball bat next to a photo of the Manhattan district attorney was posted to his Truth Social account. What an example from an ex-president.
The Jan. 6 insurrection was the second most shameful day in our country’s history. The most shameful day was when Trump was elected president while still losing the popular vote by millions of votes. That day, a man I view as a terrorist and a traitor was elected, and he is still the biggest threat to our country. In his own words, lock him up!
