On the same day the letter “Trump haters should be mindful of facts” (Jan. 17, TribLIVE) appeared, there was an article headlined “White House considers changes to law banning overseas bribes” (Jan. 17, TribLIVE). So what if bribery is unethical and illegal (not to mention impeachable)? The president is quoted as saying, “We’re going to change that.” There’s a fact for you.

I don’t hate anyone. I do, however, consider Donald Trump to be an amoral, unprincipled, conniving, embarrassing excuse for a man. When there is a Republican in the Oval Office, I pray for someone who works to guide our nation toward that “shining city on a hill.” Instead, Trump, the Pied Piper of the lowest common moral denominator, is leading us all down the road to perdition.

Since I am neither “manipulated,” “gullible” nor “guided” by my “feelings and emotions,” I am influenced by the “fact” that Trump is a heretic whenever it comes to the grass roots of Christian ethos.
