Letter to the editor: Trump continues assault

Tribune-Review

President Trump continues his assault on Americans using intimidation, humiliation, name-calling and lies. It’s easy to fact-check Trump. He says prices are down, tariffs are not taxes, he has no knowledge of who the DOJ is indicting, the 2020 election was fraudulent, the only solution to illegal immigration is the brutality of masked ICE agents. These, as well as thousands of others, have been fact-checked and proven to be lies.

I’ve listened to Trump’s interviews and his answers to questions on a tarmac. Whether on CNN or FOX, to me, he rambles incoherently and exaggerates as he makes feeble attempts to answer questions. If you listen to Trump speak, you have to laugh. I’m embarrassed for a U.S. president who is so inarticulate; his mispronunciations of words sound imbecilic on the world stage. America is a joke internationally.

Trump’s policies are dangerous and coldhearted. USAID canceled, not supporting Ukraine, etc. Reportedly, Trump has enriched himself by approximately $3 billion during this presidency. Hardly an example of being a “man of the people.”

As the economy takes a dive, Trump continues to be unchecked. The cowardly Republicans in Congress have ignored their role of checks and balances. Once Trump’s approval drops to the mid 30s, it may be the time Republicans finally speak up and face their responsibility.

Maybe nonvoters and Republican voters will wake up and see how they contributed to this chaos. Although it will be slow.
