Letter to the editor: Trump deserved World Series boos

Congratulations to the Washington Nationals on their exciting first World Series win. And an even bigger congratulations to the fans in Washington for their response to President Trump’s presence at Game 5. The long, loud boos and chants of “lock him up” were inspiring. I hope it was a sign that Americans are fed up with this president.

It is sad for America when Americans are trashing their president on national and world stages. But let’s not forget, this is a man who mocked a disabled person, tells lie after lie, contradicts his own intelligence officials, threatens and berates those who oppose him, calls people names such as “scum,” relished the chants of “lock her up” and “send them back,” and attacked a true American patriot, Sen. John McCain, even after his death. I believe he has intensified the country’s racism, schemed with our enemies and alienated our allies.

Game 5 of the 2019 World Series will be remembered for Americans showing what they truly think of their own president, and a bit of retribution he had coming. He and his supporters say he is a victim. I say he is not.

I don’t think he loves America; I think he loves himself and is a treasonous traitor, not a patriot. And one thing is for sure: He is not like Jesus.

I have faith that real and true Americans will come together on Election Day to right the wrong of the 2016 election and say “you’re fired,” with or without impeachment.
