Letter to the editor: Trump disgraceful

Here we are in the middle of a government shutdown, and President Trump has torn down the East Wing of the White House at a cost of $300 million to build his golden ballroom. Shameful.

Those in Congress sit quietly and let him have his way. They should be doing their job protecting our health care, education and our rights — freedom of speech, voting and the freedom to love who we choose.

He said, “We will go after the worst of the worse” referring to immigrants who are drug dealers, rapist or murderers. Instead, women and children and those who are here legally are among those being terrorized. His ICE agents wear masks and remove people off the street and from houses of worship, schools and fields.

In my opinion, he’s a hateful man who doesn’t care if children starve, or if people don’t have health care or housing. To me, the “worst of the worse” are those in this administration.

His revenge and retribution campaign is so disgusting, going after those who respect the rule of law while he is going after every fiber of the Constitution and showing no respect for it.

He wants the Department of Justice to pay him $230 million that he feels entitled to for federal investigations against him, which is ludicrous and illegal. Don’t forget, he’s a felon.

Guess who’s not getting paid during this shutdown? Many federal workers are not getting paid, and there may not be any more pay for those serving in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. But his ICE gang and Congress are still getting paid. Disgraceful!
