Letter to the editor: Trump hasn't made America great
I have been around since the time of Harry S. Truman, and I have voted in many presidential elections. I have voted either Democrat or Republican, depending on the candidate. I have seen good and bad presidents. However, I don’t believe any one of them has been as incompetent as President Trump.
“Make America Great Again” was his rallying cry in 2016. Has he really done this? I think not.
He misled the American public on the pandemic because he didn’t want to “create a panic.” He has denigrated American soldiers, supposedly calling them “losers and suckers” for serving and, in many cases, dying for their country. And let’s not forget how he slammed Sen. John McCain. Trump likes people who don’t get captured.
He refuses to speak out against Russian President Vladimir Putin for putting a bounty on American service members, instead honoring him as a “great guy” and great leader. In my opinion, Kim Jong Un played him like a drum in North Korea’s nuclear arms slowdown.
He is advocating dismantling the U.S. Postal Service — because the post office will deliver all those fraudulent ballots (obviously only Democrats will vote by mail). He says the demonstrations around the country are Democrats’ fault; however, all this is happening on his watch.
America great again? Just ask the millions of people who have been affected by the pandemic (death, loss of work and wages, etc.).
It amazes me how anyone can still defend Trump. Maybe they are the real losers and suckers.
