The writer of the letter “Sticking with Trump” (Aug. 23, TribLIVE) has found a very odd way to try make Donald Trump look like some sort of hero. Unfortunately, he decides to choose a critique from a non-MAGA.

His first attempt is to show Trump refusing to utilize his power to stop the insurrection by ordering the police and the military to act. Instead he sat before his TV watching barbarians destroy a building and watching his goons send police to various hospitals in D.C. Trump had all the power of a president yet sided with traitors.

His second example was just as bad. He seems to favor a leader who lies like an old rug. I wonder how many Americans want a leader who lies to them daily. I doubt that even MAGAs want that.

His third example shows that Trump is nothing but a misanthrope. He claims that Trump’s use of people and his lack of decency afterward is part of his appeal. Finally, he claims that all of the indictments filed by the Justice Department and state government are all shams. I think the fact is, Trump is both a crook and a traitor.
