Donald J. Trump is depicted as the savior of the United States. He will inherit a great economy and will probably take credit for it.
Companies don’t pay tariffs; consumers pay them. Congress holds the purse strings. Why are Republican politicians afraid of Trump? Are they afraid of losing their jobs that set them for life with health care and wages?
The No. 1 problem in America is our national debt. The interest on the debt is a trillion dollars a year. Interest rates will go up to make Treasury notes attractive. Trump wants $2 trillion in federal cuts. Those cuts will be made up somewhere else. The only way to save America is by paying down our national debt. President Clinton achieved it.
I’m sure the rich will get huge tax breaks and the justification will be trickle-down pennies.
