Letter to the editor: Trump is the antidote

Tribune-Review

To quote two famous Americans: Pogo — “We have met the enemy and he is us”; and FDR — “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself.”

The enemy is those who don’t vote, or those who vote strictly along party lines. This combination of apathy and laziness gives license to elected representatives to vote their own greedy self interests and not the wishes of the electorate. Can you say Biden, Casey, Fetterman? Were these the best possible choices?

The party of the aforementioned deal in fear, not in reality: He’s a Nazi, he wants to destroy democracy, the planet only has 10 more years, get vaccinated or be outed, shut down the economy, keep kids out of school and, as President Biden proudly proclaimed, there are at least three genders. Huh?

Progressives, i.e., Democrats, have not had a positive message for America in decades. However, they do reveal their plans. Statehood for D.C. and Puerto Rico, pack the Supreme Court, lower the voting age to 16. The goal: a Republican never again gets elected to the presidency. Hello communism, goodbye freedom!

The antidote, of course, is Donald Trump. He donated his entire salary as president to charity and donated every penny earned from foreign officials who stayed in his hotels to charity in order to avoid the appearance of impropriety. Trump never sought fame or fortune; he already had both. He is a true patriot beholden to the people alone, the fake news be damned.
