Many of us have friends and relatives who have been in the U.S. military. I had a cousin in the Army who died from friendly fire. His memory is becoming faint, which I am so sorry about. So many of us have been through this agony of losing a loved one because they fought for our country and did not survive. What name can we find to refer to our lost loved ones and friends?

Would we call them “losers and suckers”? That is exactly what Donald Trump reportedly called them in 2018. You can verify his hate-filled words by reading the Sept. 3, 2020, issue of the respected Atlantic Magazine. My cousin is not a loser or a sucker. Are your relatives or friends who perished in an armed conflict losers and suckers?

Trump later essentially called for the execution of Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. This can be verified by a Sept. 28, 2023, article on CNN’s website. Can you think of any person, let alone a former U.S. president, who would issue such a vile statement?

Knowing these things, if you still support Trump, you must feel he is correct in his belief about our military being losers and suckers. I am sure our military wishes that you did not live in our country.
