Letter to the editor: Trump must be removed

Tribune-Review

Questions are arising about President Trump and his administration’s competency due to several missteps:

• His tax cut gift to corporations and the wealthy is squeezing the middle class and worsening economic inequality.

• His trade war is a disaster, leading to higher inflation and economic hardship, especially for farmers and the poor.

• His gutting of the social safety net is making us less secure and safe.

• He is responsible for the loss of hundreds of thousands of civil service jobs, positions that protect us from harm and disaster.

• He has weaponized the Justice Department and releases many convicted criminals.

• His militarization of our streets with thuggish ICE agents, who act without evidence or due process, is further eroding our freedoms and liberties. Deporting detained individuals to foreign gulags is unbelievably inhumane.

• He has used our military inappropriately in the Caribbean to strike alleged drug boats, killing over 80 people — again seemingly without evidence or due process. This is perceived by some as war crimes, while others see it as murder. Drug running is not a capital offense, yet we are killing these people without due process.

In addition, I believe he has an illegal extortion racket involving law firms, businesses and others.

These actions demonstrate that Trump does not have the competency to be president. This destruction of our great country must not stand. Write to your lawmakers. Trump must be removed.
