Never have I read or heard anything as blasphemous as D.A. Scandrol’s comparison of Jesus Christ and Donald Trump (“Trump as Messiah,” Sept. 20, TribLIVE). I can only assume he means what he said. If so, he apparently knows little about either Jesus or the president.
Jesus was not a demagogue. He was not a liar and cheat. He did not cuddle up to monied interests or dictators. He did not lust for power.
Sorry, Mr. Scandrol, whatever Trump is, he is not America’s savior — only Jesus Christ is.
