In response to the letter “Trump’s my guy” (Jan. 15, TribLive): God bless you. You, along with the rest of the diehard loyal supporters of a man who I think cares only about himself. Let me repeat that: He cares only about himself. Not you. Not the Republican Party. Not anybody who kneels to his narcissistic needs or reassurance of self-worth and power. And certainly not this country.

I believe his desire is to watch this country crash and burn for his own personal reasons. He continues to gaslight those who believe he is their retribution for causes they didn’t even know they had. Law enforcement isn’t after you, unless you have broken the law. His indictments are his because he brought them on himself. Not yours.

I believe he wants the stock market to crash and destroy the economy so he has something to campaign on. He doesn’t want border security. He wants chaos. Something to campaign on. He needs chaos to persuade you that only he can fix it — even if he creates it just to claim to be the fixer.

There is a reason so many who served in his administration are warning us against him. He is smoke and mirrors while mixing in lies and insults that his supporters lap up.

I always chuckle when his supporters boast he has a “long list of accomplishments.” There isn’t even a short list. Unless you count all the negative ones. And no … keeping things as the status quo he inherited when he was in the White House isn’t an accomplishment.
