Letter to the editor: Trump stands up for victims

Tribune-Review

Today, it seems one can’t turn on the TV without a sympathetic press, commiserating with convicted murderers, migrant criminals or “misunderstood“ protesters threatening our police, property and fellow citizens. Why is the media obsessed with the criminals? What happened to victims rights?

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was accused by his wife of domestic abuse, has been charged with human trafficking and was arrested with other alleged MS-13 gang members, entered this country illegally. An immigration judge ordered him deported in 2019 and yet, here we are!

California approved a driver’s license for an illegal immigrant from India who could not read or speak English who allegedly killed three people in a crash in Florida, but petitioners want leniency.

Protesters are threatening our police, ICE agents and their families; yet Democratic politicians want them unmasked so the authorities can be further doxed.

Cashless bail (primarily in blue states/cities) continues to release the same criminals onto our streets to commit further crimes. Prosecution is no longer a deterrent and victims’ rights are quickly dismissed.

Kudos to President Trump’s efforts to clean up the big cities and stand up for the victims. Clearly, the pendulum has swung away from those that the law is meant to protect. Remember this, as crime prevention is sure to be a key topic in the next national election.
