Letter to the editor: Trump, supporters energized
For all the liberals writing Donald Trump’s presidential obituary and celebrating what they believe is a legitimate victory for the White House, allow me to shake you from your echo chambers of fantasy and provide you with a healthy dose of reality.
For years, Trump voters and supporters watched as you threw adult temper tantrums, wailed about unsubstantiated Russian conspiracy theories, burned down cities and rallied people to “resist.” We witnessed the rise of antifa and Black Lives Matter , and we heard all about America’s racist history. If slavery was America’s original sin, systemic liberalism is America’s mortal sin.
The most sacred of rights in a democratic republic is that of a free and fair election, one aspect of government both sides of the political aisle could agree on. That changed in 2020. In my opinion, instead of allowing the people to decide whether Trump should be reelected, Democrats hijacked America’s faith in the democratic process. Their actions gave credence to Trump’s claims of corruption and fraud made months beforehand.
Liberals think they won. They did not. Unfortunately for them, true Americans are outraged; not because Trump was defeated, but because America was cheated. Their despicable actions only elevate Trump’s persona to that of a legend for how he fights for democracy in the face of adversity. It will continue to inspire patriots for years to come.
Liberals think it’s over and Trump and his supporters have been defeated. It is only halftime, and regardless of how the courts decide the election, Trump and his supporters are more alive and energized than ever .
