Letter to the editor: Trump unfit to be president
To further give credence to William Hite’s letter “Books about Trump are must-reads” (July 25, TribLIVE), why is it that the more President Trump spews lies, the more his supporters approve of his behavior, which I find boorish and disgusting?
Plain and simple, this man has proved time and again that he is not a leader. Ignoring the pandemic and calling criticism of his administration’s response to coronavirus the Democrats’ “new hoax” was bad enough. Making fun of Joe Biden for wearing a mask was uncalled for, as Biden was simply trying to lead by example.
So now Trump, after months of shunning masks, suddenly says wearing them is “patriotic”? Do you think that maybe his advisers told him he’d better change course, since he’s doing poorly in some polls?
More than 157,000 U.S. citizens have died so far, but his only interest seems to be trying to get reelected — so he can continue to feed his massive ego? This man is a habitual liar — and I believe he is a psychopath who is unfit to be president.
As a lifelong independent who usually leans to the right, I’ll go in the opposite direction this November. Per the RVAT (Republican Voters Against Trump), “I’d rather vote for a tuna fish sandwich.”
