Letter to the editor: Trump will let us shine again
I recently watched a Jordan Peterson video discussing how 2024 will end. He stated “nothing better in your life can happen to you than what happens when you tell the truth.” He reaffirmed that political power resides with citizens, not the elites, and that we should be bold truth-tellers no matter our articulation skills. Following Peterson’s lead, I offer some of my truths.
The only rational basis for candidate selection is the results their policies have produced. For the 2024 Biden-Trump contest, we have a wealth of factual data based on their performance while in office. Space does not permit listing outcomes for their numerous specific policies; but in the general areas of the domestic economy, illegal immigration, energy independence, foreign affairs, taxes, regulation and lawfare, Trump’s policy successes greatly overwhelm Biden’s results. Trump’s policies during his four-year term left the nation much better off than he found it; Biden’s policies during his 38 months have produced continuous disasters, weakening America and its citizens on all fronts.
I’ve been voting for 60 years, and Biden’s job performance ranks him among the very worst presidents during that time. Americans need to truthfully acknowledge Biden’s substantial policy failures and replace him with Trump so we can again become the “shining city on a hill.”
