During the 2016 campaign, Donald Trump promised to hire the best people. He appointed them from all walks of life in a mission to “drain the swamp.” It is interesting to note that, throughout his presidency, a revolving door of people were hired or appointed and just as quickly were fired or resigned.

Trump is notorious for his shout-out, “you’re fired!” If he is hiring the best, why did he fire them so quickly? In truth, many resigned. The position of White House chief of staff changed four times. Four-star Gen. John Kelly held the position from 2017 to 2019. After putting up with the shenanigans of the Trump administration, Kelly said of Trump, “A person that thinks those who defend their country in uniform … are all ‘suckers’ … because there is nothing in it for them.”

Trump chose Gen. James Mattis for secretary of Defense. After two years, he resigned and later said Trump divided the country instead of uniting it. Gen. Mark Milley took up the position of chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He described Trump as a dictator who expected loyalty to himself over the Constitution.

If your focus in electing a president is wrapped around inflation, which is on the decline due to Bidenomics and immigration that could have been addressed by the bipartisan bill that Trump killed, think about the hazard of electing a man willing to call himself a dictator, evade the law, abandon the Constitution and take away health care.

“Mr. Trump, you’re fired!”
