Here is how JD Vance explained the Trump/Vance plan to improve the Affordable Care Act: “… the best way to do that is to actually promote some more choice in our health-care system and not have a one-size-fits-all approach that puts a lot of people into the into the same risk pools.” This lets insurance companies offer different plans and pricing based on whether patients have preexisting conditions or might need more medical care because of their age or health.

He concludes, “Now, what that will also do is allow people with similar health situations to be in the same risk pools. So that makes our health care system work better.”

The Trump/Vance plan may appeal to some voters now, but believe it or not, everyone ages, often with health issues. This tactic will not benefit us in the long run.

The Trump/Vance plan seems primarily to benefit insurance companies who could charge those with preexisting conditions higher prices.
