The letter “Realities about Trump” (May 21, TribLive) is very light on President Trump’s real accomplishments and reveals a Trump derangement syndrome that flourishes across our nation.
1. Did Trump select various department secretaries who would be able to execute his agenda that 77 million voters believed he would do for them? Yes.
2. Is the southern border of our nation now secure? Yes. Trump has begun reversing President Biden’s “Welcome Wagon” policy that allowed millions of foreigners to illegally enter America.
3. Is Trump pushing our Congress to make the 2017 tax cuts (expiring in 2026) permanent? Yes.
4. Is the president working to make our senior and server taxes less? Yes.
5. Has the president worked to take the fat out of government and reduce costs? Yes, with the work of Elon Musk and his team.
6. Are India and Pakistan still fighting? No.
7. Has peace between Ukraine and Russia been achieved. No, but efforts have been made.
8. Did Trump recognize the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter? Yes.
These statements are evidence Trump’s early accomplishments are what most MAGA people voted for. Hopefully the author of the referenced letter will at some point also acknowledge Trump’s value, too.
