President Trump’s final comment at his June 1 Rose Garden address was “Thank you very much. And now I’m going to pay my respects to a very, very special place. Thank you very much.” A few minutes later, he was at the base of the steps of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Washington, standing alone holding up a Bible. He showed the front of the Bible and the side of the Bible, and posed with it as if he were a model in a photo shoot or commercial. I really expected him to say “If you order within the next two minutes, we will also ship a complete set of Ginsu knives with your order. You only need to pay for shipping and handling.”

Trump would have been much better served grabbing some cleaner and cleaning up some of the graffiti, meeting with the leaders of the church or going into the church to pray for a while. He would/could do none of those things, as it seems he caters to “reality television” instead of true leadership, to himself and a fool’s paradise rather than the American people.

As he stood there holding up the Bible, I wonder if he realizes what the Bible says in Matthew 7:15 of the New International Version: “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.”
