Recently the president of the United States said “(expletive) you!” to a Ford autoworker and then flipped him off. That’s a statement I’d never thought I would utter in my lifetime. If that’s not surreal enough for you, a White House spokesperson said it was the appropriate response. In a way it was. If you are guilty of the offense you’ve been accused of, it’s not only understandable, it’s expected. If you’ve ever confronted one of your simple-minded friends with facts proving them wrong, that’s probably the response you received. It’s how an idiot says “ah, ya got me.” I’m sure there are people out there who will defend his actions. That’s how an idiot says “he’s one of us.”
Now I’m not implying that this offense is on a par with the time President Obama wore a tan suit that left Republicans clutching their pearls; that would be like comparing apples to something orange. To his credit, President Trump managed to sum up his administration’s incompetency, stupidity and arrogance in one simple gesture. It’s basically what he’s been saying to the country and the world all along.
As a result, a blue collar worker who called out Trump was suspended from his job, while a convicted felon whose behavior would not be tolerated from a petulant child continues to run the nation. What a country!
For future reference, if you want to learn how intelligent people flip you off, read the Clintons’ response letter to the DOJ’s subpoena and then get someone to explain it to you.
