Letter to the editor: Trump’s world

I believe in President Trump’s world, truth is a foreign word. Lies rule the day. He is a self-appointed king, minus the crown (his coiffure would be disturbed).

It seems a perfect day for Trump is when he flaunts himself onstage before a highly motivated audience. More clapping and enthusiasm equal more diversion from the prepared script (a script probably not written by him).

Reality checks do not exist. An “altered universe” is his reality.

Are corruption, immorality, the recent election, the Capitol insurrection and impeachment not existent in his “selective memory?”

He says the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him, but court decisions dispute that. Many of the views he espouses are false and misleading.

Trump is not alone in his world. He has a devoted band of followers. An avid group of elected officials and wannabes are anxiously awaiting an invitation to enter his world and be accepted into the sacred realm of Trump politics.

Perhaps someone will be successful in flicking on that imaginary lightbulb to convince Trump that the world he exists in is one that he alone created — not to be confused with the real world in which the majority of us reside.
