Letter to the editor: Truth about radical socialists

The occupation and shutdown of part of Seattle and the lawless defacement of public statues is just another example that there is nothing radical socialists won’t do, given their ideology based on a not-so-subtle determinism: “If it’s inevitable, then whatever we do is OK.”

All of the left’s ideological heroes in their literature write about it, starting with Marx and Lenin’s inexorable march through the history of class conflict to the utopia of total equality, Marx stating that ”victory of the proletariat is inevitable.” And Hitler used German National Socialism (the Nazi Party’s official name was the National Socialist German Workers’ Party) in his speeches to the bitter end.

This notion of a predetermined, irrevocable future is politically incompetent because it cannot work, and intellectually incoherent because we know from experience that significant events in the future can never be predicted with any accuracy and will always alter the momentum of fortune to veer off in infinite directions.

Today’s bully socialists, antifa, are the direct descendants of Stalin’s Bolsheviks and Germany’s Nazi facists. But ironically, many Americans are just too oblivious to grasp this very simple truth. Lenin, Hitler, Stalin, Castro, Maduro, Peron and the horde that fell for them? All just run-of-the-mill totalitarian leftists. Radical socialist ideology keeps them relentlessly moving toward the final calamity. Who cares if 50 million people died in World War II? It was so ordained.
