On April 17, Pittsburghers showed up to President Biden’s visit to let him know Pittsburgh stands with Palestine, and, on April 23, we’ll be sending a message to Biden at the polls: no votes for genocide. Over 30,000 Palestinians have been martyred and more than 1.7 million people have been displaced.
I’m joining with my neighbors of all faiths and races to vote uncommitted to demand:
• An immediate and permanent cease-fire in Gaza
• An end to the siege of Gaza
• Reinstatement of humanitarian aid and UNRWA funding
• Ending U.S. aid to Israel
What is happening in Gaza is unconscionable. The United States, under Biden’s leadership, has been shipping weapons to Israel on close to a daily basis. I will not vote for the man who provided the bombs and funding that decimated Al Shifa Hospital, the ammunition for multiple massacres and the weapons that forced families to carry their loved ones’ limbs in bags.
Voting alone will not stop this genocide, but writing in uncommitted sends a message to the Democratic Party to remind them what’s at stake and pressure them to take real action to stop this genocide. I invite registered Democrats across Pennsylvania to join me.
