For hateful rhetoric like Robert Jedrzejewski’s letter “NRA’s terroristic ways” (Sept. 10, TribLIVE) to be spewed out on your pages on 9/11 — a day reminding us that we are victims in the face of oppression unless we mass and fight to overcome our assailants, as those on Flight 93 did — is a disgrace and an outrage.
The writer obviously knows nothing whatever of the difference between the now-preposterous faux canard of “assault weapon” and a modern hunting rifle.
To accuse the NRA of being a terrorist organization, when it is the premier gun safety organization in the U.S. — founded for that purpose, in fact — and citing the pittance of financial support it provides to maintain our freedoms compared to the carloads of cash buying the loyalties of the left to eradicate the only defense many poor Americans have against criminal aggressors as “holding … all Republican legislators hostage” is hyperbole worthy of Goebbels.
Remember: When you read vicious screeds like that, look beyond the words to the hidden intent of the writer — undermining your freedom of self-defense.
