I must submit a correction to Frances Weiss’ response (“Mastriano’s dangerous plans,” June 24, TribLIVE) to my letter (“Hit piece on Mastriano yellow journalism,” June 15, TribLIVE) on the Associated Press article “Christian nationalism on the rise in some GOP campaigns” (May 29, TribLIVE). She states that I said he’s “being unfairly attacked by the media because he’s a Christian nationalist.”

Were she to more carefully read my letter, she would see I disputed the use of that label. Had she more thoughtfully read the AP article, she would’ve understood that Mastriano disputes the label. Moreover, those interviewed by the AP, and labeled as such by the “watchers of Christian nationalism,” give no credence to being identified as a Christian nationalist. Why the leap to “executive order denying non-Christians’ ” rights?

True to Alinskyite form, it is both useful and necessary to add the word “nationalist” onto the word Christian. Without it, the left is simply forced to vilify and attack Christians, and they don’t want to pick that fight.
