Don’t waste the ink printing the link to the Allegheny County Health Department patient portal for scheduling covid vaccines, because it is next to impossible to get an appointment.

I spent hours online before finally getting an appointment for a first dose through ACHD at the DoubleTree Hotel in Monroeville. Instead of immediately being given an appointment for the second dose, I was told I would receive an email to schedule. That email came yesterday and failed to include the code number I needed to register. After several hours of trying to find that number, I received a second email with the code.

I went through the scheduling process only to be told there were no appointments available. Today I received another email saying I could schedule. Within three minutes of receiving the email, I again got the message that no appointments were available.

They know the number of first doses administered, and the code is given only to those needing the second dose, so how can there be no appointments available? This is simple math and there is no excuse for such incompetence!
