Letter to the editor: Veteran won't vote for Biden
The writer of the letter “Veteran stands for democracy, not Trump” (May 7, TribLive) stated that as a veteran, he pledged to defend our freedoms. I say, amen.
Also as a veteran, I find it very difficult to stay silent when I see freedoms, values and individual responsibilities being regularly eroded by the nonsense from the left we have been suffering under the last 11 years (except the four years President Trump was in office.)
Do you think the Democratic elites running things were interested in our freedoms when they worked feverishly to scrub dissenting opinions from social media, persecuted anyone not following useless mask mandates, and purged our workforce (including our military) of many good and productive people by firing those who refused to be vaccinated, ruining their careers and bankrupting many of them because they stood up to governmental overreach? And remember that disastrous and cowardly withdrawal from Afghanistan? The unreal persecution of a political rival that is still going on?
By the way, I think that “insurrection” was largely staged for the media.
If you want to be sincere, look into these issues and don’t just repeat the Democrats’ talking points.
These issues are just a few of the reasons that I, as a veteran and former Democrat, could not possibly vote for President Biden, who I think is fading badly (in spite of frantic media boosting and timely editing) or any other Democrat pushing the ridiculous, immoral and ungodly agenda they have recently embraced.
