Letter to the editor: Vote Zelenak as 59th District rep
Margie Zelenak is running to oppose Leslie Rossi this fall for the House of Representatives 59th District. I ask you to think carefully about your choice, do your homework and put politics aside. Such an examination will show the right woman to represent the people of the 59th and Westmoreland County is Zelenak.
Rossi’s voting record fails to prioritize families. Our most precious gift is our children, yet Rossi has vetoed bills that would protect Westmoreland’s youth. For example, on gun safety (electronic records of firearms sales, background checks for firearms) Rossi voted “no.” Subsequently, on carbon monoxide alarms in child care facilities, Rossi voted “no.” Time and time again, Rossi has failed to champion public safety in the community she purports to serve.
Zelenak understands the struggles of the residents of the 59th District and our region. She has over 24 years experience in long-term care and advocacy for seniors. Her priorities include the workforce crisis in health care, support for child care, and safety and security in schools and communities. Support change and vote for Margie Zelenak this fall.
