Letter to the editor: Voting a precious duty

Being an American, and living in the greatest and freest nation in the history of the world, is a privilege and blessing often taken for granted. Contrary to lying anarchists and socialists intent on misrepresenting America’s founding and current events to instigate unrest in the short term — and destruction of our nation longer term — the United States was indeed founded upon an unparalleled Constitution ingrained with Christian/Judeo principles and values (which is not to insinuate that all religions are not welcome).

Voting, particularly in national elections, is a duty that must be predicated on which candidate’s platform and positions are most beneficial to the United States of America, as well as consistent with Constitution and religious doctrines; as opposed to frivolous reasons such as “my parents always voted for that party,” union endorsements, or like or dislike of a candidate’s personality or appearance. America is too important and precious for the latter standard.
