The letter “Why do evangelicals support un-Christian Trump?” (Aug. 6, TribLive) really got me thinking: Am I voting for a person who I want to run the country, to keep me and my family safe, to keep the economy running such that I can afford to feed my family without working two or three jobs, to allow immigrants to enter the country in an orderly fashion knowing who is a terrorist and who is a friend, to keep energy prices low so that the production of items requiring petrolem products can also be kept low? Are these the things I am looking for in a leader? Or am I voting for a pope?
Very few folks are perfect. Actually, I only know of two, Jesus and Mary. To judge leaders based on something they may have done in their personal lives reminds me of the Bible saying, he who has not sinned should throw the first stone. And all withdrew.
I would like to vote for a leader who will return the laws to more reflect the Constitution. If someone doesn’t like something in the Constitution, they can get it changed through an amendment, not by trying to rig the Supreme Court.
And the leader I want to vote for will keep his hands off our kids in schools by not making it easy for them to obtain sex adjustments without telling the parents. The parents own the resonsibility of caring for the children in this country.
