Letter to the editor: We don't need rabble-rousers in leadership positions

I watch the news and cringe. The government shutdown? What a joke. Speaker Kevin McCarthy was doing the job he was supposed to do, and the Republicans condemn him. Just look at Rep. Matt Gaetz. Who is he to tell anybody what they should do? Does he think people forget what problems he has caused?

And Donald Trump: Does he think people are stupid? You cannot be in this much trouble without somehow being involved.

It’s time this country wakes up. We don’t need a bunch of rabble-rousers trying to run this country like a dictatorship. We elect people to work for us, and if they don’t work for the people, get rid of them. Are we not still a free country?
