Letter to the editor: We have a heart problem, not a gun problem

Tribune-Review

After reading the many letters to the editor in favor of more laws that could lead to confiscation of guns from legal gun owners, I have but a short note for them: Cain killed Abel without a gun.

What we have is not a gun problem but a heart problem. The parents of young people should be teaching their children about God and taking them to church on Sundays and making sure they do not get hooked up in the gang warfare in the inner cities. Parents also must make sure their teenage children are taught about the dangers of drug use. All of these problems lead to the illegal purchase of stolen weapons and violence.

To close, I reiterate, we do not have a gun problem, we have a heart problem. We all, both young and old, must turn to Jesus Christ, and these problems will be reduced and eventually eliminated.
