A tip of the hat to Joseph Sabino Mistick for his column “Bill Burns knew the value of freedom” (May 26, TribLIVE). I grew up watching the noon news on KDKA TV with Burns as the anchor. He always presented the facts, no bias — Mistick failed to mention this important detail.

We have freedom of the press in our nation, but today’s media takes advantage of this and the top stories are usually politically motivated. We need more newscasters like Burns who presented factual news.
