Regarding Dan Manka’s letter “Nancy Pelosi’s act shows her character” (Feb. 9, TribLIVE): Please spare me your outrage over ripping up a copy of a speech that was full of lies and showmanship, when the man sitting in the Oval Office has mocked a disabled reporter, makes fun of people's statures, comments on women’s bodies like they are nothing more than objects to be ogled, and is an all-around bully.

Donald J. Trump is a bully, and his supporters cheer him on. Yet when the people he has bullied start to call out his behavior, they are seen as the bad ones. What kind of example are we setting for our children? That it is OK to bully, but not OK to call out bullies? How many kids are bullied and nothing is done to the bullies, but as soon as the victims come back, they are the ones punished?

This mentality has to stop. We need to stop putting bullies like Trump on a pedestal.
