I woke up this morning after another troubling night. My first thoughts were about the nation, democracy, fairness, justice, fault, blame … enough. People, policies, truth, lies, honor, future, past …enough. Trump, Romney, Biden, Pelosi, McConnell, Schumer … enough. Socialism, capitalism, democracy, autocracy, oligarchy, investigation, witnesses, fake news, above the law … please, enough.

After so much stress, so many arguments, so much despair, so much hatred, deliverance and resolution appeared to me. It has been there all the time. Through all the ideology, it speaks to us. Not a scream, not a whisper, not tears, not a shudder … just a calm voice. One voice for many voices. Not you, not us, not they, not Republicans, not Democrats, not victims, not haters, not any culture, class or creed …

We the People …

We all have fear, anxiety, hatred, anger. We all feel injured, feel damaged, sink into despair.

We’re all looking for answers. We all want the pain to stop.

We the People …

Here’s my answer. I hope it can be yours. I’m working on personal flaws, biases and vitriol with three words that are always there.

We the People.

God bless us. God help us find We the People.
