Letter to the editor: We the people must stop Trump
Donald Trump continues to undermine the democratic process by labeling the press as “the enemy of the people,” encouraging self-appointed militia to “liberate” Democratic states and now what I see as plotting with Republican legislatures to hand him our electoral votes.
His condoning of white supremacists and gun-toting militia and supporting convicted felons while paying little to no federal income tax is unconscionable.
His affinity for world dictators, derision of American war heroes and caging of asylum-seeking children are beyond offensive.
He’s damaged our NATO alliance, done nothing about Russian bounties on our soldiers and heartlessly abandoned our Kurdish allies.
In my opinion, incompetence epitomizes his handling of the coronavirus, responsible for killing thousands, while he now sues to not only deny health care to millions but plots to end the safety nets of Social Security and Medicare.
He continues to gut environmental protections, has withdrawn from the Paris climate accord and foolishly believes climate change has nothing to do with disastrous hurricanes or Western fires.
I believe Trump’s presidency is an abomination filled with divisiveness and corruption, and now Republican legislatures are colluding to help him continue this administration of incompetence. And only we the people can stop them.
