We all remember the horrific events of 9/11. It was a sight no one ever imagined happening. Fast-forward to Jan. 6, 2021, the Capitol riot. Not as horrific, but another devastating sight no one ever imagined.
I believe President Trump is responsible for the attack and is the one trying to steal the election. I am still amazed that people still believe, support and defend him.
Letter-writer Chad Sperski (“Trump put America first,” March 9, TribLIVE) stated that Trump always put America first. Did Trump put America first with his claims about a rigged and stolen election, and the unleashing of a mob on the Capitol?
Jeff Hoener, in his letter “Trump is not going away” (March 17, TribLIVE), says our country would be better off if Trump had been reelected. Why? So Trump could complete his attack on our democracy and those who dare oppose him? If you think the Capitol riot was horrific, imagine what Trump would have been capable of next with his radical supporters.
To me, it doesn’t matter if you are Democrat, Republican or independent — anyone who still supports Trump is far from a true American or patriot.
I gladly will accept whatever we get from President Biden. He may not make all the right moves (no president does), but I know he never will attack or intentionally harm the good people of this country, and he never will side with our adversaries over his own government.
Lord forbid that Trump ever gets a chance to run for any office again, including dog catcher.
