Letter to the editor: What church would venerate Trump?

I’m not a religious man, but I do believe in God. After reading D.A. Scandrol’s letter “Trump as messiah” (Sept. 20, TribLIVE), I wonder which church or religion would venerate a lying adulterer as its messiah.

As for President Trump making America great, it’s only for rich white people. Minorities need not apply.

As for record unemployment, Obama inherited 10% unemployment in October 2009 from George W. Bush, and it was 4.7% when he left. Trump got it down to 3.7%. Who has the better record of reducing unemployment?

If Trump came to fulfill the Constitution, then why does he not follow the Constitution and protect the poor? And maybe provide health care for all? Safeguard the environment instead of adding to pollution by limiting rules that protect the air, water and land. Obey lawful subpoenas issued by Congress, and stop obstructing justice.

He gave a permanent tax cut to corporations, but the tax cuts for the middle class will expire. As for bad trade deals, it is estimated that his tariffs will cost American households $1,000 per year. How much did you get on your tax cut this year?

I can think of at least five of God’s commandments that Trump has either broken or ignored. That’s 50%, a failing grade in anyone’s book. So, if you think Trump may be Jesus, I don’t want to be a member of any church or religion you belong to.
