Letter to the editor: What happened to respect for presidency?
Regarding the letter “Saddened by Trump, MAGA followers” (Aug. 25, TribLIVE): I couldn’t agree with you more, sir! My father, like you, was a veteran (Korean War) and fought the front lines for this country. If he were alive today, he too would be so very sad about what is happening to our country because of one narcisistic man.
To think that someone who has been indicted four times and charged with 91 felony counts is running for the highest office is unfathomable to me. Whatever happened to the office of the presidency being one of respect and honor?
I think MAGA followers are gullible, donating money to a man who doesn’t care about them and is laughing all the way to the bank. In my opinion, he cares only about The Donald.
You can’t possibly have a conversation with them because their reply is always, “Well, what about …?” without delving any deeper to know the facts. Thankfully we have special counsel and prosecutors who have done their job to try and save our democracy.
Sir, I can honestly say, I believe we are on the right side of history. We can only hope that the facts disperse all the conspiracy theories and disinformation out there. Thank you for you service to our country.
