Letter to the editor: When will Adelphoi take responsibility?

Last year, I sent a letter to the Trib, “Adelphoi should take reponsibility for escapees” (Sept. 21, 2024, TribLive). Once again, Adelphoi has allowed a criminal juvenile (with a history of car theft) to escape and steal another car in Latrobe on Dec. 11. The state police had to chase the boy and ram the car to stop him.

Now we have, once again, the preventable waste of our police resources, a car owner who will need to pay out of pocket for their deductibles, disruption of the peace of my neighborhood — and Adelphoi will probably again walk away scot-free.

When are we going to start billing Adelphoi for the expenses that its lack of responsibility is costing our community? Perhaps we need to relook at its property tax freedom and the way it is gobbling up Latrobe real estate. Thoughts?
