A young woman with a promising life ahead of her, described as a libertarian and a supporter of the Second Amendment, not a Democrat or a Black Lives Matter demonstrator, was shot dead Jan. 6 by a police officer protecting our Capitol and its occupants who represent us in government; a police officer who does not want to kill or die, but is willing to do both. Another police officer, also protecting the Capitol of which the POTUS is also sworn to protect and defend, died after responding to the riot. Three others’ lives were cut short as well.

Has there been even a word about these tragedies from the POTUS? The response I heard contained none; instead he said “everybody — to the T — thought it was totally appropriate” (regarding his speech prior to the riot). And in his video address after impeachment, he read a statement to “condemn the violence” but did not mention the deaths.
